Discount Auto Parts

When I saw that Discount-Auto-Parts.net was available I was surprised because I thought all such domain names would have been registered long ago.  Knowing the size of the automobile parts market it seemed like some parts company would be interested in using it in some way.

In the meantime it makes a nice companion site for my classic car repair site. I am still experimenting with the best way to build these kinds of sites so practice helps. What I have found so far is that automobile restoration enthusiasts like the informaton on the site, but don't click advertisements very ofter.  Thus, it has been hard to make any money from the site.

Perhaps an affiliation with a parts store specializing in parts for older automibile would make a good fit.

I also know that the world wide web is still in its early days and people have only begun to figure out the best ways to use it.  I am sure the discount auto parts segment will see many changes and innovations over the next few years.  When that happens I want to be ready to take advantage of opportunities.

In the meantime Ebay just keeps growing.  There are more and more parts being sold online, both at Ebay and directly from supply companies.  I have seen several auto parts companies which offer affiliate programs for webmasters.  They will pay healty commissions for sending traffic to their sites.

The word discount is apparently not used for Ebay asearches, although it is popuar with Google and other search engines.  I guess anyone shopping on Ebay is obviously looking for a good deal and there is no point in the seller using up valuable characters in the title string with them.
